[Watchapp][2.0] Share a bike

Hi,

Are you using a Bike Sharing System like Bay Area Bike Share in San Francisco, Velib in Paris, Velov in Lyon or Boris Bike in London?

You can now use your Pebble to find the closest stations to find a bike to rent or an available stand to return your bike!

Get it from the Pebble App Store


    


"Share a bike" uses geolocation to find your gps position and public API's to get stations data.

At the time being, the following cities are supported:

• San Francisco (Bay Area Bike Share)
• Paris (Velib)
• London (Boris Bike)
• Lyon (Velov)

Future plans:

• support for more cities [done]
  
• better display on pebble, using menus [done]
  
• address / direction to go to a station
  

It's a first version, and I've only tested it on Android 4.1. It needs more tests, particularly on iPhone. I know there are some issues with Pebble JS for the moment, please be patient!

this would be really cool if it incorporated the citybik.es API from here: http://api.citybik.es which would make it compatible with the vast majority of bike sharing programs in the world

• Use Robgmartin's idea and add data from www.citybik.es (if city is not available in shareabike's internal list). It adds support for about 100 cities.

Using this on ios now and seems to work pretty well. Thanks! One small problem is that the main display appears jumbled and the station display from there seems to show data in the wrong areas. See it here:

Pebble 2.0-beta3 should have fixed this bug

You are correct. Updated to beta 3 and it looks better. Unfortunately I am not near a bike share area right now

Sooo the app is no longer loading any stations. It just sits there saying "loading data"

Are you on Android or iOS?
If you are on iOS, did you give the permission location to the official pebble app?

I am on ios. Pebble has location permissions. The new version gives "error #undefined" for reference I am near the 80202 area currently

citybik.es returns 0 station for your location at the moment...
I will try to improve the error message

Weird. Just looked at the site and where they used to have denver bicycle data it appears they have removed it.
